Note: The tour starts / ends at either Sandakan City Hotel or Sandakan Airport (SDK)

Important Note

This tour Starts / Ends in Sandakan so if you’re intending to travel from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan, you will need to arrange a flight that arrives in Sandakan before 8am on Day 1 and which departs Sandakan after 4pm on Day 3.

Day 1 – Sandakan / Sepilok - Kinabatangan River (Meals: Lunch & Dinner)

Meet on upon arrival at SDK airport or pick up at respective hotels, transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, watching one of the nature’s most endangered animal species, the ‘Orang Utan’ or ‘Man of the Jungle’, in local language swing from branches to branches towards to the feeding station in the forest. Proceed to Sun Bear Conservation Center to see the world’s smallest bear in its natural environment. Lunch enroute at Sepilok Jungle Resort. After lunch, drive overland to Bilit, Kinabatangan River. The land journey takes about 2½ hours to reach Bilit Jetty. Arrive at Bilit around 1430hrs, check into your accommodation. By 1530hrs, have an afternoon tea with some local bites. After a short briefing by the nature guide, take an afternoon cruise along the Kinabatangan River (Sabah’s longest river at 560km) where you can observe wildlife on the boat itself. Dinner & overnight stay at Bilit Adventure Lodge. (Standard AC Room)

Optional: Night walk can be arranged, pay locally @ RM10.00 nett p/pax/hrs. Tree planting also can be arranged, pay locally @ RM10.00 nett p/tree.

Day 2 – Kinabatangan River - Jungle Walk - Kinabatangan River (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Wake up early in the morning to start the day with an early river cruise at about 6.00am. After the 1hrs boat cruise, proceed back to Bilit Lodge for breakfast. Late morning, depart for a guided nature jungle walk to experience the riverine forest. Trek back to Bilit Lodge, freshen up, have lunch. Take a short nap. Enjoy afternoon tea break at local house. By 1600hrs, get ready for another afternoon river cruise to a different part of the river to see more wildlife. Dinner and stay second night at Bilit Adventure Lodge. (Standard AC Room)

Day 3 – Kinabatangan River - Sandakan Nature City (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)

Breakfast. By 0830 hrs, depart Bilit and return to Sandakan for lunch. Afternoon, depart for Sandakan Nature City Tour. The City Tour includes a visit to Sandakan Memorial Park, Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple and St. Michael’s Church. Drive to the Central Market where you can see the local produce and fresh seafood being sold. Visit to the Agnes Keith Museum. Final stop at the nearby English Tea House where you may have another spectacular view of Sandakan Nature City. Here, you may have your own choices of refreshment (own account). After tours, transfer back to respective hotel or airport in Sandakan.
