Art Workshops

Blue Kinabalu Travel Agency, together with our local Kota Kinabalu based art studio partner Tuf.It are delighted to offer the opportunity to attend a local art workshop. Here, you can create your own special piece of artwork to take back home that will be a lovely personal memento of your holiday in Sabah.

There are three great workshops to choose from (details below) that are loads of fun for kids/adults alike! Your host at Tuf.It’s modern art studio will be Miss Pinnie or Miss Wendy, both are local Sabahan ladies passionate about art and they will provide guidance at every step throughout your session.

Lamp Painting Workshop

First, you’ll select the Sabah favourite of your choice! (In addition to Proboscis Monkey, Hornbill & Sun Bear pictured you can choose from Orangutan, Crocodile, Rafflesia flower or Sabah map, or if you prefer, select your own picture to copy). Then, on an acrylic board outline trace and complete with acrylic paint. This bedside lamp, complete with USB connection will make a lovely gift or personal memento of your trip to Sabah!

Your Workshop Includes:

·       Use of Protective Apron

·       Wavy Acrylic Board

·       Wood base with LED lights

·       Brushes

·       Acrylic Paint

·       Small Palette

·       Return transfer from / to your hotel (only Kota Kinabalu City area)

Fluid Bear & Lamp Painting Workshop

In the morning, and with the aid of acrylic paint, transform the white bear into an adorable and lovable bear using colours of your choice! Then enjoy lunch (provided).

After lunch, trace on an acrylic board, the Sabah favourite of your choice! Tufting Workshop

Tufting is a simple and easy way to create a small rug by using a tufting gun and colourful thread.

For this workshop, bring your own picture (on smartphone is fine) and the Art Studio will project the picture onto primary (white) cloth for you to trace an outline. Then complete with tufting, using coloured thread of your choice using the tufting gun.

Your Workshop Includes:

·       Use of Protective Apron

·       500mm x 500mm primary cloth

·       Guidance on how to tuft to achieve best results

·       Completed rug

·       Lunch (choice of Malaysia’s National Dish Nasi Lemak or Chicken Nuggets with French Fries)

·       Return transfer from / to your hotel (only Kota Kinabalu City area)
